KURTIS BLOW AND KRS ONE PARTNER TO PROMOTE "NO PROFANITY DAY" ON AUGUST 9, 2009

A "No Profanity Hip Hop Anniversary Tour" will launch May through July 2008, showcasing Big Daddy Kane, Whodini, Public Enemy and more.

Kurtis Blow and other Hip Hop icons are challenging America. For one day: no crime, no violence, no hate, no murders, no sin - and no profanity. Their goals is to have one day of love, peace, unity, kindness, goodness, gentleness and fun with a series of events throughout the coarse of a day.

Album Review: Gerald Alston - Sings Sam Cooke (Featuring Gerald Albright)

I can recall having two very serious conversations with Gerald Alston. The first one took place at Cliff Perkins (Soul Generation) studio in Jersey City, NJ on a Sunday morning. It was a meeting/hang out session with several NYC area Classic Soul artists. That day Gerald got up and spoke with much eloquence about the need for the Classic Soul artists to unify and support each other, or else they would soon find themselves out of existence. As you might well imagine, I get a whole lot of new music submitted to me every year, from many different sources (major labels, indy labels, indy artists). Some of that music is awful and some of that music is outstanding. However the vast majority of the music submitted is "average."
